Leaf Cutter Ant (Weaver Ant)
They are known as leaf cutter ants because they may be observed parading leaf pieces throughout the jungle floors of Central and South America, as their name suggests, and they are often encountered in large groups. Leaf cutter ants, who are distinguished by their spiny, reddish-brown bodies and long legs (which they use to carry their leaves like parasols over their heads), are very hardworking fungus growers who are also intriguing creatures in their own right.
