In Indonesia, there are more than 10 species of fire ants, but usually found from the type of Solenopsis geminata. The ants are capable of injecting the alkaloid toxins by using their sting and causing tremendous pain to burn. But this species is not as fierce as S. invicta species, which is known to be very aggressive, originating from Brazil.

Currently, S. invicta ants have already hit our neighboring country, Australia. In Australia, this species is not native to the continent but originally from North America and is now invading some areas of Brisbane. For this case, Australia has established a center for controlling ants in Oxley, Queensland.
