White crab spider

in #macro3 years ago

Flower crab spiders, which are also known by other names, are referred to as 'crab spiders' because their shape is similar to that of a crab. However, flower crab spiders are not the same as crab spiders.

The spiders do not spin webs, preferring instead to hide among flowers and catch their food, which is in contrast to the majority of spider species.

When they visit flowering plants, crab spiders, which prey on insects, come into contact with them. The spider will remain stationary on the blossom for several days or even weeks until a suitable food source arrives at the plant.
