The Sound of Music

Money, money, money and let's not forget bitches,
I'm here to talk about what matters, and that's pussy and riches.
There's other things in life, you're right, that may be true,
But all those other things are just to help you get the first two.

You see, life is just a game and best you never forget it,
If you're thinking that you're on a team you'll only regret it,
You should change your thinking, everyone you meet is a tool,
That you can use to get a bigger splash from life's reward pool.

You should stop looking for love, it's only pain you don't need it,
And that part of you that just wants to have sex, you should feed it,
But you better use protection, you don't want to get burned,
Or have some pregnant bitch lock you down and take half what you've earned,

Spend your money wisely now, my foe, you don't want to waste it,
Buy your budget's biggest diamond and at least one gold bracelet,
Cos you have to let the other players know that you're winning,
You just wait until they notice what you've got then start grinning,

Play the game right, get your money first, then women come next,
Once you've made enough, then sex will just require a text,
Now you have the two and that translates to social power,
You'll have new sycophants and acolytes 'round you every hour,

They're there because they want to have the same things as you,
And to get them they will do whatever you want them to,
You made it now, you've transformed from a man to a god,
With powers too, when you get google's brain-boosting mod.

If you want to be a winner in life, then this is how you play,
Don't ever let things like morals or empathy get in your way,
Reward yourself always, just as you deserve, leave no chance to buy things untaken,
For happiness lies in material wealth, you'll know this when you embrace Satan.

Something Inspiring..
Something Comforting..
Something Crazy..
Something Crazier..
Something that might save you from a very poor decision in future

I understood nothing

I was just a kid when I first heard the song "Material Girl" blaring out of some dude's boombox on the beach. Reading your poem reminded me of that and how even when I was really young I recognized there was something very wrong with a mentality that encouraged greed. And now we have generations of people who are possessed by their possessions, and music that tells them this is the way to be.

Yep, that's what they preach.

However, those nerds who get those high paying jobs and have lots of money... they learn that they still can't get chicks.

But what does get chicks is hitting the gym and acting like a jerk.
Too bad none of those chicks are worth marrying.

Lol. True enough.

Your post demonstrates just how conditioned people are to punishment and reward. This punishment and reward mentality completely misses the effort and skills required to acquire the rewards. Worse, the P&R mentality assumes that wealth is a substitute for interpersonal skills.

The stick, or the punishment is meted out without regard to skills required to achieve the behavioral standard demanded by society. It is often assumed that we can just beat the evil out of people, when the reality is, if we teach the skills required to get along, "morality" is not an issue.

I have seen this over and over again with artists, musicians in particular. Despite having more money than they will ever know how to spend, the most successful musicians keep making music. They make music because they love to exercise their talents and the skills required to lay that music down to tape or perform it live. Money is just a bonus to them.

This is where I'm directing energy for my own kids. I am busy teaching them the skills I have and how to acquire the skills they want. I am teaching them to learn how to learn. Skills, baby, skills. Everything in life requires skill. If you earn a little money with your skills, that's a bonus, not a substitute for interpersonal skills. Money says nothing about whether not someone is lovable.

I'm don't understand.

Oops. Forgot. You do satire. :)

Brilliant post. This is why I don't listen much to modern music anymore. My kid has no interest in today's music either. Maybe you can add music to this and make a song? A song to use as a rebuttal to the music industry today? 🤔

Love it , what else to be said!
