4. Visit the Imambaras of Bara and Chhota.
The Bara Imambara and the ChhotaImambara are two of Lucknow's most prominent tourist attractions. The Bara Imambara is thought to have been erected to employ famine-stricken Lucknow residents. According to legend, the then-emperor of Awadh, NawabAsaf-ud-Daula, came up with the concept of building a prayer hall, or Imambara, as a means of employing his people, who worked on the Imambara day in and day out for 11 years, until the hunger ended.ChhotaImambara, on the other hand, was built by Nawab Muhammad Ali Shah, whose grave is located to the west of Bara Imambara.
