Whatever emotion we are going though, it will be conveyed to others through facial expressions and gestures. In turn, we will be able to understand whether or not the others around us are able to understand our feelings as well.
For example, I make a statement expressing my anguish over some matter. Some around me will express pity and even try to remove my stress. Some will not even care and they may even have a smirk on their faces which will be very evident. Facial expressions give away what the others are thinking about us.
I talk interestingly about a subject and if the listener is trying to stifle a yawn, then I should stop and move on instead of waiting to get insulted, eventually.
Actions do speak more than words.
