True love requires open hands. Without the power to say no, love never will be real, just illusion.

So many people say that if God was really good, then he would remove all pain and suffering in a second. Well, that all sounds nice, but if God would remove all the suffering and pain in the world (which is caused by ourselves and how we treat ourselves and others), then we would no longer live in a world in which we are doing what we want to.

If you do not have the power to say no, then it isn't real. If you cannot say no, then you are really forced to say yes. And if you are forced to say yes, then it means that it doesn't have to come from the heart.

This is true when it comes to a relationship with God, and it is true when it comes to loving the people around us. We cannot force ourselves or our kids into becoming something that they do not want to. We can try to encourage them to make the good decisions, but if we force them, then they do not really have a free will, and it will hit back at both them and us later.

So, if you really love someone, you have to let them go. It doesn't mean that they will leave you, but they have to have the ability to leave you. Only then can the person return to you with true love and say that they want to stay!
