Post V-Day Tribute To The Lovers in My Life

I know it's way overdue, many are sharing Chinese New Year posts and here I am still posting about Valentine's 😂 As I was pondering what to share on this special festive season, my mind couldn't help but drifted towards the lovers in my life. Don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about past lovers a.k.a ex-boyfriends, I'm actually referring to my current lovers. Yes, it's plural. 😏

Love is intentional.

Relationship is a two way street, it's never a one sided communication. 💓 One of the reasons I decide to do this tribute is because Valentine's is a celebration of love and sacrifice, (you can Google and read up on the origin of Valentine's Day, it's not as lovey dovey as you would've thought) it's not just some commercialised observation. Sometimes we get so used to life we take the simplest things for granted.

So with this, I decided to do a simple love tribute to a few guys, of whom hold important places in my heart.

First off, my father.

When our hearts are open and connected, that's when we get to know and appreciate each other more.

My father is a funny guy in his own way, I guess that's where part of my weird sense of humor comes from 😂 He is responsible, wise and disciplined. He's very hardworking, and he's the I-don't-take-your-nonsense kinda guy. I remember there was once during our phone conversation while I was in college, we were talking about my expenses and he said, "your dad isn't a wealthy man, but I will do whatever it takes and as long as I can to provide for all of you." My papa is a man of few words, he isn't the lovey dovey type so for him to say something so heartfelt, it really touched my heart. He is also a very loyal friend. My father always calls himself a "rough" man. (粗人) He does have his temper but when you get on his gentle side, he can be the gentlest man. It's true when people say grandbabies bring out the different sides of grandparents. I remember him carrying my firstborn for the first time during her fullmoon and she smiled. My father beamed brighter than the sun. 😊 Today, as I am having my confinement at my in law's place, my family came to visit. I see the same expression he had when he carried my newborn baby and played with my firstborn today. He's a proud grandpa indeed. 😘

The second person, my husband.

We like each other so much we dated for 8 years before we tied the knot. This man has been with me through thick and thin, in good time and in trying times. He's kind, patient, understanding, creative, has a weird sense of humor like I do but his is tahap naga 😂 (that's why he's with me), and he is very attentive. My husband is my best friend, my confidant, my lover (but also my ex-boyfriend hahaha!) and he's a great father to my children. My children absolutely adore their papa. 😘

He's a quiet spirit, so in our relationship I'm the more outspoken one. Often times, this may give some people the misconception that I am the more 'dominant' one in the relationship. We may have big differences in personality, and it's only normal that sometimes certain personalities are dominant than the other, but never in our roles. My husband is such a secure person that he isn't a tad bit worried that his wife would outshine him in any way. He's always gracious and supportive of my dreams and desires, even when they sound crazy as times, yet he would rally and take part in them too. And for that, I'm forever grateful. 🙆

Last but not least, my newest lover... My newborn son.

Born less than two weeks ago, he got his few seconds of fame among the medical team and nurses for coming out in the labor room in 4 minutes. While I am still very ganjiong at this new stage of transition, I'm glad the whole family adores him, especially his eldest sister. She would always check on him and love on him in the most endearing manner it'll make your hearts explode 😍 I can't wait to get to know him, suffice to say he's at the stage where he can't get enough of me lol may you grow up healthy and happy always, just like your name, Asher (meaning; blessed, happy)

Of course, this tribute wouldn't be complete without the presence of many women warriors in my life. Perhaps I'll do a tribute on them sometime soon. 😉
