It's likely because LTC has been testing segwit on the testnet.
Apparently Litecoin got the Lightning network.
I first thought it's a "blip" and somebody was pumping it up but it looks legitimate. Litecoin is probably not going to fall much anytime soon now.
Been watching mine grow up too......whoa
