I worked in politics for a while, and every day it seemed that people wasted so much time making points and winning chits that almost no legislation moved forward. Of course, there were many, many fine, competent, hard-working people who pushed their agenda forward effectively. Some were workhorses, some were rocking horses. Sometimes, you couldn't tell the difference!
