A visit to my Hometown... Villa is sweet sha!
Most of the times, the environment in the urban areas gets used to us that we think some rural environments are for a certain kind of people but No! I disagree. Most recently, I visited my hometown (also called Village). My village is called Ebu in Delta State, Nigeria. Though it was a double reason for the visitation because I came to see my cousins and nephews I had not seen after a long while because of distance and also my Uncle did his traditional marriage.
The distance from the city I reside to my villa is just less than 45 minutes. So I journeyed to the villa that same day and it was fun seeing my relatives. We engaged so well and talked extensively about the happenings in our various lives. The marriage was quite interesting because I made new friends as well. The crowd cheered as the bride stepped out with her entourage dancing to welcome all the guests that came to witness her traditional marriage.
The marriage was a successful one but my experience didn't stop there. After the marriage, the next day I had to proof to them that even though I don't stay with them there in the village, I can still do what they do. I decided to try out something new as I took to the mortar and began pounding processed cassava turned to something popular called (Akpu, Santana) lol!
Doing that was very stressful because I'm not used to it. I had to take some body pains drugs so I could be relieved from the stress of handling that mortar 😁😁..
