Robots: friends, teachers and classmates of the future

in #life6 years ago

While we were growing up, cute, charismatic and weird robots were separated from us by the TV screen. The whole dimension was close, yet unreachable. Modern children will be able to interact with robots, communicate, “make friends” and even program high-tech tools of knowledge according to their needs.

Today, one-year-old kids are capable of mastering new world with the help of robotic assistants who can sing and dance - not replacing adults, but complementing them at any given time. Soon, robots will become friends, assistants and teachers - perhaps the advent of machines will even change the pattern of lessons and classes that we are used to.

In addition to complimenting adults and teachers, devices will become excellent partners in various games. In the coming years, children will also be able to teach, educate and adapt robots to suit their own needs. Such a scenario assumes the possibility that a number of interactions with machines will become more productive than interactions with other people - a robotic companion will never be rude, and in some cases it will have more patience and individual approach than most humans. The ability to “teach” a school robot new tricks raises the stakes for children: they are given additional responsibility, which they willingly accept, acquiring the basis of STEM skills. Such children not only master the skills of programming, but also learn to break complex processes into basic elements that are understandable to robots.

The future of education is closely connected to robots - machines will learn side by side with children, motivate other students and act both as friends, companions and as objects of study.
