Self-Limiting Beliefs That We Have To Struggle With

There are struggles and self-limiting beliefs that we must struggle with. We cannot go on as normal and we have to find a way to change our attitude. There are times when the only way out is to fight back. How many of us really want to accept the pain and suffering that comes along with cancer, heart disease, arthritis, obesity, and depression? Of course, there are people who are more fortunate, but most of us have to struggle and work through the challenges.


How many of us feel self-defeated when we can't do the things that we did or think we could do? It's not fun to be at home in front of the television and think about all the things you wish you had done or said. The reality is that we are limited by what we think and feel. We need to realize that everything begins with our thoughts. We can choose to believe whatever it is that we want to believe. However, if we continue to believe what we know to be false, it will become true.

We all have self-limiting beliefs that we aren't willing to let go of. We have to be strong and stick with them. If we allow ourselves to continue to feel negative then it becomes true. We have to start with the decision to let go of our self-limiting beliefs.

Let's look at an example of one self-limiting belief. This belief is "I don't give up." If we continue to hold this belief we will find that we continue to feel the pain and anguish. How many times have we said to ourselves, I'm not going to give up? And then we continue to feel the pain.

There are people who continue to feel the effects of their self-limiting beliefs. If they don't do something about it, soon enough those self-limiting beliefs are limiting them. They aren't letting go of anything, they are just staying in the same place or continuing to feel the same way. What they are doing isn't getting them anywhere. So they continue to feel the pain.

Another one of our self-limiting beliefs is "I don't have the ability or talent to do something." If we keep focusing on this self-limiting belief, we will keep feeling this way. We may be afraid of our inability to do something or it may be holding us back from what we truly want to do. Yet if we keep telling ourselves this, it will become our belief.

It becomes our belief that we don't know how to do something and this prevents us from actually doing it. Our self-limiting beliefs are stopping us from reaching our goals. It is time that we stopped limiting ourselves with these self-limiting beliefs and began to believe that we do have the ability and talent to do whatever we set out to do. Once we begin to believe this we will have the motivation to actually do the things that we set out to do. This is the only way that we will be successful in life.

The fact is that when you believe that you can do something, you will actually get the opportunity to do it. When you believe that you can't do something, you won't even take the chance. This is a fact of life and something that we need to come to grips with. We must learn to believe in ourselves so that we can change our circumstances.

The truth is that it is very easy to convince ourselves into believing that there are struggles in life. People that go through hardships and different struggles in their lives generally have a stronger sense of self-worth and confidence. There are also those who have less-than-optimal experiences and still manage to feel good about themselves. If there is nothing to struggle with, why should there be struggles? If there are no struggles in life, then there would be no achievement and no sense of self-worth. It is not good enough to believe that there are no struggles, because the truth is that there are struggles and this is what defines a person.

It is also important to remember that when we suffer, we become stronger mentally and physically. If we suffer from low self-esteem, then we are not going to make it very far unless we are willing to work very hard. However, there are those who have poor self-limiting beliefs but they have managed to overcome them and they have also gained the strength to last.


If we are not willing to accept the fact that there are limits to life, there will be no achievement. There are limits to everything, including success. It is either we accept that fact or we will never be able to achieve the things that we want in life. There are many people who believe that there are no struggles in life and these people are usually the ones who do not achieve their goals.
