We choose life when we repent of our sins and accept what Jesus did on the cross as payment for those sins. And when we accept Jesus as Lord.
The Israelites were told to meditate on God's Law because there were 613 parts to the Law. We're under grace and not the law so we can concentrate on loving God and loving people.
