My Life Yesterday, 5.17.18 #ulog

First thing yesterday at work, I needed to get gas, and the station was flooded with old cars. This was the grandest of the group, a big old white limousine with funny doors. The back ones opened normal, but the front ones opened backwards.

There really must be some kind of big car event coming up soon, as I keep seeing old cars lately!

Later on in the workday, I was at this house that always has this big bowl of eggs practically overflowing in the kitchen. It’s kind of strange because they don’t have chickens, but the eggs must be fresh since they are so plentiful and unrefrigerated.

After work I decided to head downtown to the park for a little festival type thing I heard advertised on the radio earlier in the day.

It was nice out and there was a good sized crowd with a fair amount of vendors and live music as well.

There were also bounce houses and these big inflated balls. There were little kids in the balls and they were so small they could barely make it roll, it was so funny and cute.

After a while, the music changed, and people started to dance. The band was playing a wide range of music, from jazz to pop, and a slower classic during this time when these couples started dancing romantically.

There was also this cool old van there to promote a local business, it had a really nice paint job!

It started to get dark so we wandered around downtown a little bit and I took a shot of this cool looking alleyway. It felt like a scene from a real city to me, despite it really being more of an open area with the other side of the alley open to a dirt lot, lol.

After that we were hungry so we went to a favorite Thai restaurant downtown. We ordered the chicken larb which was great, I LOVE larb! It’s always so refreshing and has that dynamite flavor.

Also got an order of some orange chicken which was nice and crispy. It came with this chili sauce (on request) that was really delicious because it was spicy yet slightly sweet and oily.

I asked the waiter what it was and he showed me a giant bottle of sambal, but I have enjoyed that many times to know that he was mistaken. Hopefully I can visit again and ask someone else or watch the kitchen a little closer to see where the sauce comes from, and not when they are trying to close up shop, lol!

I think he just showed me the bottle because it was close at hand and he wanted to go home...
