WHAT DO WE MOST NEED IN THIS WORLD?

I have pondered about that thing that can be said to be the goal of man. We have different dreams and aspirations and this is responsible for different tastes and views about life.

For the religious people, they will certainly tell you that what you need most in this world is salvation. They believe there are many evils in this worl and there is a 'figure' out there they call satan who is constantly working against the work of God. So to be saved, you need God. You need to believe in Him and obey all his commandments. That thing every man needs, for them is God.

For those who love luxury and things of the world, they will tell you what we need most in this world is money. Money for many is that thing that keeps the world going. Without money life is probably unlivable.

This perhaps informs the saying: money makes the world go around. For these people, money must be made and at all cost. This is even hard to deny when you link the state of having money to the state of being happy.

I have argued once that money gives and brings happiness. I am yet to see someone who is unhappy simply because he has money. When you have money, you have little or nothing to worry about since money can make them happen.

For these people, the important thing in life is money and it should be the target of every living being.

If you ask the humanitarians same question, they will tell you the most important thing to have is kindheart and empathy. Money for them has no value when you cannot use it to help people or better the lives of others.

Your feeling of empathy and ability to cater for others even at your own risk should be your ultimate goal. The many, the merry.

For the academicians, the utmost thing in life and what we must strive to achieve is knowledge. This is often backed by the saying: In all you do, seek knowledge.

The life of a wiseman, you will agree with them should be preferred to that of the fool. So for them, the most important thing to have in this world is knowledge. If you are knowledgeable, then you can rule the world, make life and things better for others and importantly, you will be respected by many because everybody wants to associates with wiseman (or good things).

The above strenghtens my introduction that we have different views about life and different aspirations. But what do you think we need most in this world? Do you agree with the religious people that it is God? If yes, once we have God, what is next? Can having God alone give material money and knowledge?

Do you think it must be kindheart and feeling of empathy for others? If this is the case, should the idea of God be forgotten since i would be doing good to humanity?

Do you think it is money? If yes, can money take us closer to God or far away from Him? How fulfilled would i be having money but not making any impact in the lives of fellow human beings?

Do you think it is knowledge? If yes, are Wise men the only people in history? What about brave men, philanthropists, humanitarians, clergymen, etc,.?

What is that thing you think we need most among the things listed above? If none of them is important, then tell me what you think we need most in this world.
