Mercy Speaks

in #life6 years ago

Have you ever done something (maybe mistakenly) and you know you'd be punished for it, but at the end of the day you were granted pardon? I'm sure we all must have experienced this before; and to say you haven't.. it would literally translate that you're perfect; of which it is almost impossible to attain as humans. So if you've ever received mercy before, how much of it do you show to others?

Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy - Mat5:7

That's an excerpt from the holy book, and it says a whole lot of things. Mercy is like a seed, which you sow into the lives of others, and in one way or the other, it would return back to you (maybe in another form or fashion).

But it is disheartening for people to forget the mercy they've received from others, and are now quick to pass judgement to others for a lesser offence from which they have been pardoned from.

A story was told of a little boy that lent his friend one of his favourite storybooks, and she got it misplaced. All efforts to find it was like progressing in futile efforts. But what did the little boy do? He asked her not to get herself stressed over the book, that he will tell his dad to buy him another one.

But the same girl that was granted pardon, after few days, someone misplaced her pencil, and it was like the gate of hell was opened. She turned red and demanded that her pencil be replaced. Even after begging her, she still didn't listen. So the poor boy that misplaced the pencil had no choice than to use his lunch money to buy a replacement for her... how human. And she was quick to forget that, some days ago, she had received mercy.

Tell me, in the future, if you're in the position to show that girl mercy, with which mind would you do it? We should learn to look beyond people's mistakes - after all, we're humans, and we're still driving towards a perfect state.

The beauty of mercy is when it is done to the person that least qualifies for it. It could be the person you show mercy today that could help your destiny tomorrow.

Peace on y'all

The tables of life can turn quickly that's why it's good to always be good and merciful.

This; indeed; is absolutely true.
That's why we all need to show mercy

Well said bro! If there was no mercy, gosh, where would we be
