MARRIAGE RETREAT - DAY 2
What a wonderful experience, and a lot of great things to think about!
After breakfast on Saturday we had a great session in which we discussed some excellent things pertaining to building marriages that last.
The goal of the retreat isn’t just to gain insight into marriage and discuss things that may be issues though, it’s also to make memories and have some fun together.
The Archery Range
We started off with a stroll through the woods that lead to the Archery Range. Since I do not bow hunt, it’s been years since I’ve shot a bow, and @mama-pepper is even less experienced. However, we had some instruction and remembered the basic concept, so soon we were giving it a go.
Though I wasn’t hitting any bullseyes, I was definitely hitting the target more often than not.
@mama-pepper was going a great job too, and at least was able to hit the target!
Tomahawk Throwing
In any marriage, it’s good to figure out exactly how far your spouse can accurately throw a tomahawk… just in case. Of course I’m joking, and this was another great activity. Honestly, @papa-pepper seemed to do the best out of anyone we saw try.
@mama-pepper eventually figured it out too, and got one to stick!
Rifle Range
@papa-pepper is a pretty good shot, but @mama-pepper prefers not too. Since they had some friendly competition for the couples, they asked @papa-pepper to shoot for @mama-pepper so each team would have 10 shots to total. Just to keep things a little more even, @papa-pepper took half of his shots left-handed and half right-handed.
Certain excuses like a gentle breeze could be made since no direct bullseyes were hit, but we still came in second place overall!
Riding Horses
Other than on the neighbors horses in Arkansas, @papa-pepper has never really been horseback riding. @mama-pepper has gone a few times, but opted out this time due to being pregnant.
My horse was "Oreo" and it rode very well. The one I usually ride in near where we live liked to buck and run around, but Oreo just followed the leader and the trail, which was a nice change.
The Zip Line
As I mentioned in a previous post about this zip line, it used to be the longest one in Arkansas. The pregnant @mama-pepper skipped trying it this time, but @papa-pepper went on it, just to take advantage of the opportunity. Plus, @mama-pepper has fun watching, and now you can too!
The Evening and Dinner
That night, we would up eating dinner at a table of six, and two of the other people were this couple above. The first person to accurately reply with who they are will win 70 STEEM, just because.
Dinner was excellent, and the things shared on the last night of this marriage conference were a huge blessing to us. We may try to head back to Fort Rock later this year for a family camp so that we can bring the @little-peppers, but we will have to see!
We had an excellent weekend and a great time thinking more seriously once again about some of the more important things in our life, like our marriage and our children.

Yes, first time meeting. They do live in Arkansas, just over an hour or so away from us.
I didn't know there were real live cowboys on the internet. And cowboys who really love their wives, geddy up!
When I typed "geddy up" it autocorrected to "teddy up" which would be a funny way of trying to convince a wife to put on something sexy. But I don't think it would be very effective.

Glad y'all enjoyed some marriage strengthening time. It's like a muscle, you have to work it out to make it stronger. I see on the #steemitgunclub lol
