   Good day friends, how is your day going? Today, I decide to share the importance of humility to mankind, after reading a real life story of a man who used to be a proud man.

   In the story, there is a man who as struggled for years before he finally achieves his goal. However, since his goal has been achieved, he was indeed proud of himself even to the extent of wanting to be acknowledge by everyone he come across. He always want people to treat him specially in whatever place he finds himself and will always want to be praised for any successful task performed by any organization he finds himself in. Though he used to believe there is no one who is as good as him in his field. Therefore, he respects no man than himself. But unknown to him, his rude behaviour as prompted the management of the company he works to send one of their worker abroad to study about the field this proud man manages. This is not because they don’t have an expert in that field, but because the management is tired of the rude attitude possess by the proud man. In nutshell, this proud man was sacked immediately after the other trained worker arrive from abroad.

What did you see humility as?
   Though a lot of dictionaries has define humility in diverse ways, but I define humility as the ability to control pride in order to attain greater height. James E. Faust said and I quote, “ a grateful heart is a beginning of greatness. It is an expression of humility. It is a foundation for the development of such virtues of prayer, faith, courage, contentment, happiness, love, and well-being.” Hence, humility is not only meant for poor people, but for both poor and rich. It saddens me to hear some people say they will never apologies for their wrongful did because they are older or richer than the victim. But the truth of the matter is, people who are successful need humility more and more as they climb the ladder of success. Jim Yong Kim said and I quote, “No matter how good you think you are as a leader, my goodness, the people around you will have all kinds of ideas for how you can get better. So for me, the most fundamental thing about leadership is to have the humility to continue to get feedback and to try to get better because your job is to try to help everybody else get better.”

   Conclusively, yes, it is true that we all have pride in us, but no matter who you are, no matter what your status is and no matter how high the level of your wealth is. The ability to subdue ones pride is one of the essential features you must possess. Because humility is what everyone need in order to achieve greater height.
