Is steemit ACTUALLY worth it in the end?

Honestly, when I first joined steemit I had no faith in it however now my perception has changed I mean there is alot of people that can fully say that it works while others might disagree but I for one feel like it does work if you put the effort. Nothing is going to work unless you try and it's not like you losing anything. If you having nothing to lose invest your time and effort and success will come.
