Where Family Gathers
It is only the beginning of December, but my bride and I are already thinking of home.
Now that the family is spread across the country, we only see each other at Christmas time.
While a few of us are established in our own homes, there is still the home where we gather as one family under one roof.
It may sound quaint in this day in age to have such happy thoughts of home. There are so many that either do not have that special place or the family gatherings are not so enjoyable.
Believe me, we all have our disagreements and problems. There has been plenty of manure in our family to spread around the field.
The one thing I can tell you that never changes, is that we pray for one another.
One of my favorite stories of our matriarchs is that of my great grandmother. When she was on her deathbed she called my grandmother to her and placed the mantel of Family prayer warrior upon her.
When the family listened to this story at the Christmas dinner table, we were all reminded that someone is always praying for our well being.
There is a reason that our blessings are so plentiful, and that is the grace of God, and the faithful prayers of faithful people.
I pray your blessings will abound this Christmas season, and your homes are filled with the joy of Christ. There is no greater to joy to possess.

Thanks! It will be our first one in Panama. The weather doesn't really feel Christmasy (especially since our family in San Antonio got snow today), but it should be a good Christmas with just us and the kids. ;)
