And the Bombing Nobel Price goes to…

in #life6 years ago

Remember US president George “Dubbelju” Bush? The warmonger who waged wars in five countries and dropped 70’000 bombs in his presidency?
(Admittedly he had others do the dropping, but since the US president is also Commander-in-Chief he was the one responsible.)

Especially upsetting were the 57 attacks he ordered in Pakistan, Somalia and Yemen, because the US was not at war with those countries. Especially the Europeans, who had experienced enough war in the last century, were upset.

So when a certain Obama was elected president of the United States, the Nobel Peace Price was pushed on him, as like saying “hey, make sure you stop that!”
Mr. Obama didn’t look very happy when getting the price. I guess because he had already known that this was a failed hope.

Because not long after – and for all his presidency – he would, with a downtrodden face, order or allow bombings.
100’000 of them.

Yes, you read that right. Obama let more bombs fall on people in more countries (seven instead of five) than warmonger Bush. But nearly nobody talked about this.

Likely this was because the military-industrial complex (a former president had warned his country about this) was too big to fail. Too many workers in the time of the economic crises, caused by Banks speculating what they could after Bush slashed their regulations.

But then the wars were over, a new president came to make America Great Again, without bombing innocent people or even stepping on other countries toes.

Yeah, I wait until you stopped laughing. Have to make dinner anyway.

Ready again?

You should think in a country that is currently not at war with any other country, the amount of bombs dropped on other countries should be approximately zero.

But in his first year in office, Trump’s military dropped 44’000 bombs. Or 121 bombs per day, while Obama managed a mere 34 and warmonger Bush only 24 per day.

In fact the Trump administration is bombing so much even the bomb makers are running out of bombs!

Or more precise the materials to make them. Some of them are quite special. But at least the special materials make special bombs, intelligent bombs, that only hit the bad guys, right?

No, not really.

Most bombs today are delivered by drone, and only 2% of people killed by drones were on any “kill list”, the CIA says. And only 18% more were identified as military targets.
The rest is “collateral damage”, or civilians, including several hundred children who probably had a very dangerous ballistic water pistol.

And it is unlikely that this is going to stop. Even though the Pentagon had 21 billion dollar it could not account for, the Trump administration has agreed for 20 billion more to buy more ammunition.

Too bad there isn’t a Bombing Nobel Price, right?

By the way, while you were reading this, approximately 0.68 bombs were dropped by a not-at-war USA at a very likely civilian target.

Dinner is ready, let’s eat!

The President can bomb anybody he likes
(from 00:22)

Traditional wars are not as fashionable as they used to be, nowdays its all about insurgents, melitias and terror cells.

The good ol' days, when everyone wore a shining uniform and gentleman officers would meet each other for a drink or two on the day before the battle day when they sent their fellow countrymen into death against each other!

Hail President.

But let us not forget that most western governments could care less about those bombings.

And probably many more leaders around the world either, as long as their country isn’t affected.

Good point that Obama continued Bush’s wars. It’s strange how they are viewed so different when they both illegally bombed countries they were not even at war with.

Interesting statistics. Just goes to show you - our presidents are NOT in control. The question is, who is?

Big Money.

You know who the president was that warned about the military-industrial-complex?

Eisenhower the big general, 1961, and he did it in his last presidential speech. THAT important was it for him.
