Walking, the ultimate exercise

Easy, Free and Enjoyable (and Wicked Healthy)

First and foremost it is easy, enjoyable (key ingredient to health), and free (no gym memberships, personal trainers or special equipment is needed).

But what else does it do for the body?

As a more sedentary life bogs many of us down, behind a computer, desk or drivers wheel, we must get up and walk more just to move our muscles and remove stress and pressure on most parts of our body.

But there are also many chemical changes that can make us feel better, be more alert and agile as well as responsive and intuitive. Let's look at these benefits divided into smaller time parcels so you can fully understand and implement these into your daily life:

Walking for 1 - 5 minutes

Instantly your body begins to release your energy producing chemicals that prepare the body for further action/s. Instantly your heart rate increases slightly which in turn warms the muscles and increases blood flow. Increased blood flow brings nutrients to all parts of the body for greater functionality and longevity.

As the muscles warm with the increased blood flow, muscle stiffness dissipates, but there is even more... your joints produce more fluids for lubrication and like the oil of the car, protects the parts of your joints from wear and tear.

And yet more benefits are that your body begins to burn calories as the fat and carbohydrates are used as the fuel for the energy you are producing. Even in a short time up to 5 calories per minute will be burned.

Walking for 6 - 10 minutes

Your heart beat again rises and you begin to burn more calories per minute, but this is only the beginning.

As your blood pressure escalates but controlled by the release of body chemicals which simultaneously expand the blood vessels to allow greater blood and oxygen flow throughout the muscles and organs. This may seem counter intuitive, but the more you walk the more resiliency your heart and cardiovascular systems will develop. This also serves to lower your blood pressure throughout the day for greater health benefits, feelings of joy and satisfaction.

Walking for 11 - 20 minutes

With this amount of time your body temperature increases as you begin to sweat as the blood vessels near the skins surface (to release excess heat buildup). Now you are burning up to 7 calories per minute and breathing deeper int the lungs. This begins the release of two important hormones, Glucagon and Epinephrine to further fuel your muscles.

Epinephrine is an adrenaline hormone that can even provide relief for Asthma and Allergic reactions... all fr free (you could purchase them in drugstores,but fabricated hormones will NEVER be as beneficial or assimilate-able by your body).

Walking for 21 - 45 minutes

Your body now begins to relax to make the motions easier and more efficient... serving also to release tensions held within the body. This is a result of Endorphins releasing in your brain.

More fat is now being consumed as your insulin levels drop significantly, bringing so many more health benefits for you.

Walking for 45 - 60 miuntes

Now you are realizing all the prior benefits fora longer time; increasing blood and oxygen flow as you burn calories and rid waste via the lymphatic system.

Simultaneously you will be fortifying and strengthening your Heart, shedding excess fat stores (inside and out), strengthening your immune system and if you are outside (not on a treadmill), getting a great does of Vitamin D.

Studies conclude that walking is just as effective as antidepressants and all done with your own free chemicals, not store bought varieties (which harm or straining other functions and tissues). And all as you release stress and anxiety... wow, who knew?

And you can do this at any age

The main thing is; you will live more attuned in nature, feel great, look better and be more vibrant... sound great doesn't it?

walking is good for maintaining a healthy heart rate, exercising 15 minutes a day is reusable and a good diet is healthy.
It is true that one gets stuck in the routine of the computer and the work that gives us time to exercise but stealing 15 minutes for ourselves does not cost anything.

No it is free and eventually the person will increase the time walking more and more.

Walking is all alone the best exercise to do if we do enough physical work then there is no requirement of going gym too

For longevity it is known that slow easy but constant activity is the key, not strenuous workouts.

That's just it..most people think they need to hit to gym to workout...small steps matter. nice post..am a fitness enthusiast too.

Constant actions to better oneself can never hurt.

Common Knowledge is no longer common, common human traits are also not common...like walking.

Exercise is very light but very useful for health, better if we do it in the morning, thank you for share @kyusho.

Some prefer morning as do I, but anytime is better than no time.

I also have 1 hour of a day that keeps my health very good.
Everyone should work for two or three hours in the work hours, then both body and mind are good.

1 Hour of walking, beats an hour of watching TV any day... it is far more relaxing and fun.

Exactly working is obviously a good exercise.It prevents our various disease.So we all should daily exercise must be done.Tnaks a lot for your valuable advice.

Exercise is good for the body. To be comfortable, exercise should be done every day. I am also running for free from my work.

I always run from work!
