One of the Most Expensive Meals I've Ever Had...Part 4
At Ginza Ukai Tei in Tokyo, the chefs are busy at work preparing desserts for their privileged guests.
They also have an array of beverages that pair nicely with the selected desserts.
As we wait to order, we look around the room at some of the artwork, including these mosaic of what looks to be some sort of eagle.
And this beautiful bouquet of flowers.
Also the entrance to one of the private dining rooms.
And these long-stemmed poinsettias as part of the Christmas decor.
As well as a cooler for wines.
And a crystal rose as table decoration.
We even spot our previous chef scrubbing the grill down from our last entree.
Our server soon brings out some Japanese cakes to start with.
They matcha flavored and pound cakes.
Accompanied by the cakes is some cream and sugar.
For the freshly brewed coffee. She also leaves a dessert menu for us to order from.
Being the chocolate lovers that we are, we both order chocolate sundaes for dessert!
They come garnished with bits of chocolate and sandwich cookies. And they even drizzle a little Hennessy on top to enhance the chocolate flavor. Very yummy :)
All in all, our meal was quite amazing, but I would only recommend coming to Ukai Tei for special occasions because reservations are really a must, and let's face it--the prices are quite steep. Additionally, I wish we had brought the stomachs to store all of the deliciousness wd were served.
