Included in the list of food with good protein content are beef, pork, chicken, fish, beans, legumes, eggs, tofu and nuts. Cook the meat with less fat: in steam, grill, fry, broil, cooked in oven. Take out the excess fat before eating. Beans and legumes has less fat and is rich in fiber and is a good replacement for high fat food. Avoid meat with high fat such as sausage, chorizo, fried chicken and oyster. Use olive oil on slow heat in cooking this food and use canola oil for frying with high heat.

Food with high calcium content includes non-fat milk of cow or goat, yogurt & cheese. Aside from milk, other source of calcium are broccoli, tofu, milk from soy & rice, leafy vegetables like collard, petchay, kale, chard and dried fish.

Food with high cornstarch content has huge effect in the level of blood sugar. These food includes rice, noodles, bread, cereal, potato, beans, corn. As much as possible, consume whole grain bread, cereal and noodles. Avoid too much consumption of food that are rich in fat and sugar such as pastries, biscuit, junkfood and other fried food.

The oil that is good for the body is the oil that came from olive, canola and peanut. The fat from these oil takes good care of the heart and help to increase the level of good cholesterol which is also called HDL - High Density Lipoprotein and removes bad cholesterol.

Vegetable with no cornstarch content like broccoli, carrot, pechay, and other leafy vegetables has less carbohydrate and sugar content. Consume a lot of these vegetable. It is important to only half cooked these vegetable so that its vitamins and minerals are still intact. If wanted to use oil, dry it with a very minimal quantity.

Salt and other salty food could cause high blood pressure. Soybean sauce, oyster sauce are rich in sodium. Practice lessening its usage in every food at home and replace it with seasoning that are not salty such as ginger and lemon. One of the important thing that you have to ask from your doctor if it is safe to drink wine even if you have diabetes.

Active lifestyle is a very important factor in controlling diabetes. Follow the following important guidelines for safe exercise;

  • Never surprise your body. Start from slow and gradually increase the level of the exercise especially if you have not done the exercise before.
  • Try doing exercise of at least 30 minutes everyday. This can be achieve by performing exercise routines that can last of up to 10 minutes.
  • Make exercise a daily routine together with a friend or a family member.
  • Only do the exercise routine that is suitable and enjoyable.
  • Walking is an exercise routine that can be done by anybody.
  • A good exercise is done 1-2 hrs after eating. Much better to measure the level of blood sugar before doing so.

Yeah right. The only secret to avoid diabetes is moderation.
