Epiphany: Alt-Currency is Already Everywhere, But......

I was sitting here, deciding how best to present my most recent ah-ha moment with fellow Steeminas, when another idea blazed into my brain. It's been happening quite often here lately. Anyway, I was contemplating the longevity of crytpo and alt-currency in general, but guess what, it's already everywhere. From coupons to rewards points, contests, in-store credit cards, cash back and on and on.

This gives an alternative value to wherever you shop and a chance to make your fiat stretch, or better yet, a supplement to. Now there is one glaring caveat when utilizing these rewards. Anonymity and privacy. Utilizing these alts are generally tracked and stored on a database. Generally to sell you more stuff. Over time, they can be hacked and information stolen or your email junkbox can get overloaded from some obscure business you dealt with years ago!

This is where crytpo benefits. It puts the power of privacy back into the hands of the user. Being able to pay for your purchase without signing in, signing up or signing off! Hopefully, this is the direction we are headed. Putting the spending power and privacy back into the people instead of kowtowing to big businesses and their cattle farms.
