Who is the greatest leader of them all ?

Is it the silverback who beats his chest
Menacing power; brute strength
Is it the regal lion leading his pride
His pride - his mane - dancing proudly
Is it the withered wise old grey matriarch
Who trumpets her feminist aged attitude
Who is the greatest leader of them all?
 

If not the strong nor the royal nor the wise
Perhaps it's the resourceful monkey-guys
Intellectuals enquiring their path to freedom
Chained further by thoughts uncontrolled
Or perhaps it's none of these
Something deeper
Something still
                ... the nothing in between...
The one who guides, who serves
who wakes and works eternally - never sleeping
Without a word of complaint nor hint of sound
Who listens every second for a pleading voice
And answers with selfless sacrifice
Is He the one?  The one we don't see
Who hangs in shadow and serves duty
The greatest leader of them all?
