How Important Is Education?

in #life5 years ago (edited)

THE saying "education is the key to success" sounds cliché and has been repeated over and over again but it will always remain a fact that we should take seriously. Education doesn't guarantee success because it requires determination, hardwork and perseverance. But it is apparently the strongest weapon that you can use in combatting life's struggles. That is why it is important that we go to school and take our studies seriously. If you are lucky enough to be sent to school by your parents, don't waste their hard-earned money. Do your part and give them their money's worth because at the end of the day, it's for your own benefit.

If you want to get a hired for a job with a decent salary, then you need to have at least a highschool diploma. If you want to enter the corporate world, you'd need a college diploma. If you want to work abroad, you'd need to have a vocational degree. So, basically education is a big deal. It will help you achieve things but of course, you'd also need good traits and qualities on top of your educational attainment. Getting good grades is also important but it is more important that you can apply all the lessons you've learned in real life.

It makes me sad that there are a lot of teeanagers who are taking education for granted. A lot of them don't realize that they're enjoying a privilige that not all can have. Some are struggling for their tuition fees while others skip classes to party or date their special someone. I'm pretty sure they'd only realize their mistakes when it's too late. They're only after the fun without thinking of the repercussions. I hope they will realize their wrongdoings sooner because the longer they keep on doing it, the harder and more complicated it will become.

Lastly, I hope the government will put more funds in improving our education system. Lucky for those who are attending private schools because they have enough facilities in exchange for the big amounts that they pay. But public school students suffer because of our broken education system. Some classroms aren't well-ventilated and occupies fifty to sixty students. It is definitely not conducive for learning. Some teachersfail to report to class a lot of times and only leaves their students with activities to work on.

It's time we put emphasis and importance on education because it plays a major role in forming a better and stronger nation. We have a lot of skilled and smart people in our country and we can have more of them if we want to.
