Growing up as 90's Kid In The Philippines

in #life6 years ago (edited)

Living as a 90's kid in the philippines gives so much euphoria. We all know kids today loves spending their time in Social medias and gadgets. Well in our time i really much remember the times where we play outside, we start from early in the morning till late afternoon playing in the streets.

Street games

  1. Patintero
This game consisting of 2 teams in any number as long each team has an even number of members. There are lines for each member, the only rule is someone from each team must past through every line without getting caught from the opposing team.
  1. Tumabang preso
Anyone can join in this game, there is an empty can and there should be someone guarding the can, and everyone must have a slipper to hit the can, when the can is hit the guard must make it stand again before he can catch someone.

  2. Tagu-taguan
This game is called hide and seek as we all know. But here in the philippines we played it outside where there are a lot places to hide, from top of the trees to under the sewers.

Kids And Anime Show

In the philippines kids show usually starts 8 a.m in the morning for young kids who doesn't go to school like toddlers. While anime show starts around 4 p.m where kids comes home from school. This usually happens in weekdays and in weekends we play outside.

Sleeping in the afternoon

This is the 90's kids nightmare where our parents let us sleep in the afternoon usually from 1 p.m till 3 p.m. Nightmare because we cant play or watch t.v because of some boring shows or even adult shows (i didn't realize these shows till i was older)

One day when i have kids of my own i want them to experience the best of my childhood, i will introduce these games or even these traditions i grew up with. Being a 90's kid is really fun and i hope kids here in the philippines will still experience and enjoy these things.
