ATTACK AND DEFENSE
The day arrived for the attack.
Indian spies had already informed the leaders; even as the Japanese attack ships had passed the outermost planet the course could be plotted: Straight at the Indian system.
The defense system on the outer planets knocked out some of the attack ships before they got blown to atoms.
Japan had issued no warning, now a communique was sent: That New India was to pay for the malfunctioning sub routines for the wet-bodies. Their brief answer that they too had suffered under the same errors was not heeded.
The Japanese and the Indian version of the Sherlock’s had received the military strategy and tactics information needed for this kind of warfare, and as the Japanese ships came close enough for the Indian ships, a counter-attack was swiftly established.
The military “ballet” that followed was perhaps the most obscure war ever: It was all over in less than two hours, with a Japanese navy totally annihilated and a Indian navy halved in size.
There was no Japanese officer to ask to be allowed to surrender; even the command ship was blown to pieces.
Immediately, the Indian ships got resupplied, and set course for Japan.
As they came closer to the system and the images and the video-feed could show more details, it became clear for the Indian commander that there was not much point in dropping bombs.
Instead, his next in command and himself took a shuttle and landed near the Japanese government complex.
The meeting with the Japanese PM lasted only a few minutes: The commander didn’t come with any threat – instead he simply informed the PM that India would station a few of its major battleships around the planet.
Anything that could fly faster than an airship would be shot down without warning.
The tea server found the PM in a pool of blood a little later, having done seppuku.
Hidaka was found in the similar condition, on the floor of his shuttle.
