Tongue is such a powerful tool and weapon of our body. With it, we either bring blessings with words of wisdom seasoned with grace, or we bring death or calamity with words of curses seasoned with grave.

What comes out from your tongue cannot be retrieved unless the words fall on deaf ears. Therefore, it is of utmost importance we learn to control our tongue. I am not saying the control as in roll it or curl it because I think it is based on genes whether one can roll/curl the tongue or cannot.

What I am saying is the usage of words. Some people use the words to manipulate your mind and soul. Some use words to cheat and lie. Some lash out words of hatred or anger only to regret later.

The Bible in the book of James stated tongue - if not used properly - is equal to a spark in the forest which will set the whole forest on fire. One who doesn't steer their words well or always use corrupted words has actually destroy his or her own body. We control our tongue (words), we control situation to the best for us. Just like when we put bits on horses' mouth, they obey us. And the whole ship is steered by a rudder in front.

I take heed to this particular line in the Bible - James 1:19 - quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger.

When anger comes knocking at my door, I always try to count 1 to 10 and remind me of the above wisdom.

It is very useful in my parenting. Or else, lady Hulk mama will always be present. Which is a no no for me.
