Heart and Legacy- Daily Heart #3: IT'S GOT YOU!

Hey you! Yes YOU! I'M TALKING TO YOU! YOU! The person who is reading this. What is it? Why do you keep doing this to yourself? Everyday you repeat the same stupid mistakes. You know it's wrong. Why do you continue to do it? Does that really have that much control over you? What are you doing to yourself? I can't see you, but I SEE you. Now you are asking yourself what am I talking about. You know what I'm talking about. YOUR ADDICTION! YOUR BAD HABITS! YOUR BAD DECISIONS! YOUR SELF DOUBT! THAT THING! Whatever it is.

IT'S GOT YOU!

And here is the thing. I don't have to know what your problem is. That doesn't matter. The truth is that you have a problem and you don't want to admit to it.

Step 1 - Realizing you have a problem.

If you don't think it's a problem and it's not negatively effecting you or anyone else around you, then you're good.
But if you or the people around you are aggrieved by your actions, then we have a problem.

Step 2 - Ownership.

Man-up or Woman-up. Stop blaming other people or other things for your bad choices in life. Admit that what your doing has a negative outcome every time and that's just not good. Say it with me, "I HAVE A PROBLEM".

STOP!

Now get your emotions in check. This is the point where most people get all upset and become irrational , because they now realize what they are doing or what they have done.

PAUSE AND TAKE A DEEP BREATH

Now that's out of the way, let's move on to the next step.

Step 3 - Take Action

Now is time for change. Do whatever you have to do to make it right. Just don't harm yourself or anybody else in the process. This may be baggage that you've had for a long time, but that's OK. It's not too late. Don't ponder over it. Just fix it. START NOW!

Step 4 - The Three R's - Relax, Reflect, & Recover

This is the final step. At this point, you have been working hard to repair the damage that has been done. Exhale and RELAX. REFLECT on the progress you have made and the steps you've taken to ensure that you don't go down that path again. And RECOVER. Just move on and enjoy a life without burden.

SMILE!

After step 4 you might feel something else tugging at your leg. Something that you haven't felt in a long time. Don't know what that is? I'll tell you what that is. It's called LIFE!

AND IT'S GOT YOU!

ENJOY YOURSELF! LOVE YOURSELF! LOVE OTHERS! LOVE LIFE!
