They reopened most businesses in Da Nang.... finally!

in #life3 years ago

So after a long period of time of having our movement restricted the decision was made by the powers that be to allow most businesses to reopen yesterday morning. Of course all of us being borderline alcoholics almost immediately headed to the bars or shall i say "restaurants that serve alcohol" because bars and clubs are still not allowed to open. Needless to say every single bar has just rebranded themselves as a restaurant.

In order to go into these places you are supposed to scan the QR code so that the government can do contact tracing if some new Covid cases start to pop up in the future.

Because she is such an airhead, Nadi left her mobile phone at home because she was so excited just to be going out doors so we had to put her in quarantine away from everyone else.

This place was the only one I went to last night but even though it doesn't seem too terribly packed, trust me when I say that this is very rare for this join to have every single table filled as well as a bunch of people sitting at the bar.

From the messages I was receiving from people at other places this was basically the case at all establishments across the board. The tragic thing is that of the 4 places that I considered to be my regular spots, 2 of them couldn't weather the shutdown storm and are permanently closed. I am sure this is the case all over this country.

We had a good time but also realized something about what in the past was one of my favorite places to drink and then later get takeaway food: The acoustic design of this place is terrible and you had to shout to have your friends even hear you. Maybe I am too old or something but I can't tolerate this for very long. I wanted to stay longer but the noise level was just driving me nuts and after an hour or so I had to get out of there. If it was affecting me that badly, imagine what it was doing to the hyper-sensitive ears of my doggie friend?

Also, it was absolutely pissing down with rain and since my dog is a weirdo she is afraid of the umbrella and will react violently tugging on the leash if i try to hover it over her. Therefore, she was an mess of water and street crud when we got back to the condo. Therefore, we had to bring on her least favorite activity in the world!

She's not as miserable as she looks there. I think at times she is actually enthusiastic about getting in the tub because she knows that after she endures the process she is going to get a bunch of treats. The hairdryer portion is the hardest part.

Now we just need for the bowling alley to open back up and we have found out that they will be doing so in 7-10 days as all of their mechanics were laid off during the near 4 month closure. DUMBO is coming back!

Sort:

Glad you're not stuck being cooped up in a room anymore, dood. Surprised they allow you to bring dogs into bars there though, I'd assume they'd bitch about it.

Also, my fiancée saw the picture of your dog looking miserable in the tub and exclaimed "Ohhh, so cuuuute." Just an FYI.
