Humanity Still Exists, Odisha's Doctor Omkar Hota Carries Bleeding Pregnant Woman on cot for 8 km!

Help is a very expensive gift in today's world. Those who are rich at heart can only give....Money and resources are just self created boundaries.. Where there is a will they is a way!

Dr Omkar Hota who is posted at Paplur Hospital under Chitrakonda block, 150 km from district headquarters hospital, on Wednesday got information that a woman at Serigeta village was complaining serious labour pain.

Without making any delay, Dr Hota along with an attendant rushed to the village that lacked good road connectivity. Realising that the woman had suffered excess blood loss, the doctor carried out the delivery process at the village.

Post delivery, it was decided to take her to the hospital as her condition started deteriorating. After villagers refused to carry the woman to the hospital, the doctor and the woman’s husband carried her on a cot for eight km.

Recently, he has been awarded as most dedicated doctor in Odisha from honourable chief minister of Odisha.

Dr. Hota’s hard work and dedication did not go unrecognized. On August 15 this year, he was felicitated by the district collector in the parade ground with the best doctor award.

Dr Hota has become an inspiration for all by his exemplary display of commitment and selfless service to the people.

Walking the extra mile to ensure healthcare for the needy in remote Malkangiri villages and saving two valuable lives of a mother and a child, he is a true representation of the medical fraternity in its role as a life saver.

Doctor and teacher are the most noble professions and if intentions are noble it can change an entire nation. This is so heartening to see this doctor without any vested interests serving the common people.

He has done what doctors seldom do. He took his oath to serve others for the humanity in his medical school graduation,
he is really honest to it unlike many other doctors. I salute you doctor. You are an shining example to the entire medical profession how to be a real doctor. Really proud of you doctor.
