Birthday Special Edition (Part 2): What's in the Piggy?! and a Bike Ride through the Setting Sun to a Mystery Location
I carefully peeled off a bit of the newspaper.
"Just tear it open," prompted The Mann, "I'll draw you another piggy later!"
Just then, my piggy's ear tore slightly...Noo!! D=
That's it!
I ripped the remaining newspaper off, revealing. . . a glossy black box with K2 on it.
What was inside?!
A brilliantly coloured pair of K2 inline skates !
The Mann had stalked my existing pair of skates to find my foot size, 90mm wheels (the largest size possible for recreational skates), and the new BOA speed-lacing technology.
The biggest part of the surprise came because of the unavailability of adult sizes that fit my slightly-smaller feet in German stores (only children's-sized skates fit, and those come with tiny wheels. Tiny wheels = slower speed). The Mann had had to specially order this pair of skates online.
I proceeded to put on the skates and do about 10 brief laps around the living room! Wheee!
Then it was time to chill.
We sat on the couch and watched an episode of Suits together. I really like how the storylines of Episodes 6, 7, and 8 of Season 7 are developing! =DD
Then, it was time for a bike ride to a mystery dinner location!
We rode through the neighbourhood as the sun began to go down.
In ten minutes, we reached a lamp post. . . and locked up our bikes.
I did a quick 360° lookabout and spotted only one eatery. That had to be that our dinner location!
What kind of food do you think we ate that evening?
I'm thinking that the first answer gets a 1 SBD prize. In my Birthday Special Edition (Part 1), only one person @ace108 took a shot at guessing what the piggy held within. He made a good guess, but it turned out wrong. I've sent him 1 SBD for taking the time to answer my question. =D
Thanks for the consolation price. :-) This one may be more tough. Don't look like a spare rib buffet
Some nice big tasty burger.
CSI work completed.

hehe nice work, Detective!
Unfortunately, wrong again though! hehe though the burger there is also very yummy..We've eaten here once before while out on a walk one evening, and since that first time, I've always wanted to go back, but we didn't have an opportunity.
More important I think that means I found the right place then. :-)

Did you have Italian food? Happy belated birthday @foodie.warrior !!
Looks like you had a great one :)
Thank you @steemit-foodie! =D
You were quick with your reply! =D but since it was in question form, it was difficult for me to count it as a proper reply. So I split the reward amongst all the Guessers.
Haha - most importantly, it looks like you had a good time!
Some sort of typical German pub food? Maybe something with lamb or sausage and mashed potatoes?!
Lucky you! Love your skates!
hehe thanks for the reply @princessmewmew!
Sausage and mashed potatoes are wrong! Lamb is partially correct!! You'll see how lamb was incorporated in the meal when I write Part 4! =D
That's a nice flashy gift my friend!
Hmmm looking at the restaurant, seem like you have some nice homemade fries, steak and fish...
Cheers!
hehe the flashier, the better!! For night-skating especially, cars are able to see you better! =D
Steak is out, but fish and homemade fries are somewhere incorporated in the meal!..You'll see exactly how when I write Part 4! :)
Wow! Very beautiful gift 🎁! Am get scared to wear these skates, you seems that you will have yummy food there .
Happy Sunday my dear.
Thanks my dear! =D Have you tried skating before? It's really fun!! =D
Oohh, I should have guessed in your last post! I was thinking inline skates, but thought naww, that's just too obvious. Anyhow...
Let's see if I can do a better job guessing the food: The restaurant looks very generic, except for the crest above the lantern, between the windows. Is that a double-eagle? Could it be Russian (or possibly Austrian)? The eclectic mix of chairs certainly suggests the former... :-) As for the menu chalked up on the outside wall, they seem to serve lobster, cappuccino with shrimp (and they misspelled their capuccino, so can't be Italian!) and plucked lamb, oh wow! That doesn't sound German... so I'll stick with Russian. Also, I believe going out for some Russian delicacies is a perfect way to celebrate the birthday of someone so firmly grounded in Eastern and Western cuisines.
hehe you should have guessed in the first round! =D
I love your analysis and thought process for the guess of Russian food..Your knowledge of German certainly came in handy for you! =DD I didn't know that Russians enjoy having an eclectic mix of chairs around! teehee..that was interesting!
I think you mean, I'm kinda standing in a state of divided perplexity in between both Eastern and Western cuisines!! hehe but thanks for the sweet words! Your comment came in time minutes before I started sending the SBD award, so you got a fifth of it! Tiny, but a token of appreciation nonetheless =P
Yeay, I won, I won, I won! Thank you so much, @foodie.warrior! This is the first time I won anything on Steemit. :-) Never mind the amount. (I may as well press the button on the NEM faucet ...) It's not about that, it's the participation and interaction that makes me happy. :-)
So was I right about the Russian restaurant? Oh, okay. Gonna wait for episode 4. :-)
Hehe you're so cute! :)) I'm honored that you made your win on one of my posts..may it be the first on many more (and hopefully with much better prizes =D)
I had to google NEM faucet..not sure if I fully understand how it works, but it seems to be a freebie of sorts?
Russian restaurant was not quite there...but I really enjoyed your thought process that brought you to that guess =DD
I'm so sorry for assuming everyone here is a crypto-head, just for being steemians. Yeah, I didn't understand the faucet myself at first. It's kinda like a giveaway of free coins. You press a button every so often (turn the faucet) and it gives you tiny to minuscule quantities of NEM. Supposedly there is a chance to get bigger prices too, which is kind of a requirement, since it costs 5 NEM to make a withdrawal (the famous catch). As for the point behind the whole deal, I'm just speculating. One theory is that they want to introduce us to using mosaics, bits and pieces of information you also win sometimes, which in future could evolve into smart-contracts. So yeah, lots of potential for the future. At the moment it's a neat way to win fractions of pennies. :-)
That sounds interesting! Sort of like a mini sure-win jackpot which you feed with 5 NEM each time.
Don't have to apologize for the thought that everyone here is a crypto-head...I do have some crypto myself, just not that knowledgeable or exposed as a lot of other users hehe..
