Vlog 333: Steem - the blockchain where you can have the most fun in a downtrend!
The downtrend/bear market has been going on for about 5 months now.
It's not fun.
Especially if you are bag holding tokens that don't do anything.
Coins like Bitcoin, ETH and Litecoin.
To see your portfolio go down for the last 5 months is not fun and it's even worse if you can't do anything with those coins.
It's one of the reasons I like STEEM so much.
Even though STEEM has gone down more than most coins you can still use your stake to earn more STEEM everyday.
And when the sentiment changes you will have more tokens that can now go up.
Another thing to look at in a downtrend is to look at development of a blockchain.
Is there still development when times are bad?
As far as I can tell with Steem, development has not stopped at all.
Steem inc is still working hard and releasing more constant updates you can read about on their steemitblog and 3rd party developers update and create new tools, apps and frontends almost every day.
All you have to do is wait (again).

Pricing action is not reflective of what is taking place. Development is where it is at.
First, we have the steemit team focusing upon the scaling of the blockchain which is vital. Secondly, individuals are creating applications that are going to draw more people to STEEM. Finally, the things people are doing across the industry are moving everything forward.
From a media perspective, a lot of FUD. From a development standpoint, it is a raging bull.

I agree.. Having fun in even the downtrend is very important to handle the pressure and keep our-self psychologically fit ! Sometimes Wealth is not being offered to us because we may not be ready for it. If we actually practice the feeling of wealth everyday, you may be there sooner than you think ...Everyone could be wealthy by just starting to feel like having it.

This makes me seriously think whether I should stop looking for great coins at discounted price and instead put my cash into Steem. I’m still waiting for this $1.00 threshold. I might have anough cash to buy Steem to make a nice bump in my upvotes worthiness for steemiens I have been following. So far I have been on steemit for only 6 months and whatever is in my Steem wallet I made by commenting and occasionally posting. I didn’t buy anything at all, all made organically. At $1.00 it’s diferent game, it’s a great opportunity and even better investment. Let’s hope we get there and once I make a purchase it will go up from there 😆.
Not fun to see the prices plunge but patience is the name of the game :)
Nicely written, direct and to the point. I would advice anyone on Steemit not to lose faith in Steemit. I did that some time ago and I lost money and reputation. When you see Steemit go down, write even more and be more active, more than ever. Some may stop when it's down but that's when they lose.

After Portugal, Brasil is the team I root for... Tonight I'm only afraid of Kolarov free kicks, because if they score early it will be almost impossible for Brasil to win.
Although the payouts are smaller than what we were used to, the more we blog and post, the better, because the prices will rise, sooner or later, and the profits will be there to be taken.
I think the $6K BTC price is supper stable and it has shown that it won´t go lower, I think this is just a normal market preparing for the next bull run.

Yeah its true here on Steem you can still make more coins and ROI even with the markets down. It all has to go up again eventually. Things seem to be moving nicely here. I have introduced two other creators I know from Youtube to come here and one of them @heyjoburg tried it a while back when DTube was new and very buggy. He has tried again seems to have had a good week back.
