The anxiety

I had to drive back to the city after three wonderful days in the countryside. With every kilometer the city drew closer, my anxiety grew more and more. Obviously one reason I love being out of the city is the fact that then I'm not at work, but that is not all of it. I love the countryside so much, the open air and peace, space to do things, and of course my family home is in there.

And before you tell me that I should move back to the country if that makes me happy, I'll tell you why I already haven't. There are basically no jobs there, definitely not any in my line of work. Another thing is the housing situation, I could always move back to my parents house but I think that would drive me mad in a few months time, as much as I love them and our family home.

There are pros and cons in both city and country living, but my goal in life is definitely to get back to living in the countryside, in to a huge mansion, obviously!

Now that I'm back in the city, I feel like I can't function properly, as I just think that soon I have to go to bed and then wake up at dawn for work. It's going to be an especially hard week as I don't have any days off.

Gladly I was pretty productive in my days in the country, I have a couple sets of pictures lined up for you in the coming days, so stay tuned for that. I'm gonna try and go to sleep soon, but probably end up scratching the intense amount of mosquito bites I acquired during my shoots in the garden and forest. I look like I have fucking leprosy :D

We moved out of the city 5 years ago..boy do I miss it sometimes! Even if I grew up in the countryside myself. Sure, it's great with trees and fields and all that stuff..but you sort of feel like you're missing out on stuff all the time. Especially when you're a cool dynamic young entrepreneur as myself (ahem..) I sort of feel a little bit out of place. All my neighbours are either old people, young families in regular jobs who spend all their free time redecorating, the guys work on their old cars, and ..it's sort of boring. We don't really get along with anyone, because we live on two different planets. Sure, you can find some alternative people, but they're always "green" veggie socialists who doesn't want to admit it, but are actually super obsessed by status and keeping up with the joneses. Buuut..that's forgotten every time I go for a jog or a skitrip right from my doorstep, or we drive the 10 minutes it takes to a desolate beach which no one ever uses. But sometimes I still miss the city. Even though you're alone, you still feel like you're where it happens. But then you realize that's not really true, because everything happens online anyway. Buuut....buuutt butt

Good work my friend as usual, you know what you want, I pray you settle down where you will be happy and fulfille. Weldon .

Yes there is definitely good and bad in both! I laughed at the "green veggie socialists" part, I so know what you mean. I have to disagree on the being where it happens, I actually feel a lot more lonely in the city. I'm glad the real action is on the internet, that's much more my style :D

mosquito bites... aww sounds nasty :O

Haha they are! Land of the ten thousand lakes is perfect for monquitos!

Country bumpkin here!

Grew up in Lakeland, Florida then moved to a mountain in Costa Rica with my family. The country's where I'll be staying. :)

Sounds amazing!

Your post is so creative and original. Just a different take on things. Makes people want to come back for more. I guess that 's the whole point isn't it? How to get people to keep coming back for more. For starters, great content in post. Keep it up.

Thank you very much for coming back :)

Great photograph that translates the feeling of the title!
