Courage the Lovely Virtue
Courage is not the absence of fear, resistance to fear or mastery of fear but the willingness to push on in the face of fear. Courage is grace under pressure.
Miguel Cervantes in one of his remarks has this to say about courage, that,
"He who loses a wealth loses much; he who loses a friend loses more; but he loses his courage loses all".
Describing how a courageous person should be, the trumpeter said that it takes courage to:
Refrain from gossip when others around you delight in. Stand up for an absent person who is being abused. Live honestly within your means and not dishonestly on the means of others.
Be talked about and yet remain silent when a word would justify you in the eyes of others, but cannot speak without injury to another.
Be a real man, a true woman, by holding fast to your ideals when it causes you to be looked upon as strange and peculiar. Refuse to do a thing which is wrong, though others desire it.
Live always according to your convictions. Courage is the first of human qualities.
I am in complete agreement with you bruv! Courage is a virtue, and it's definitely not the absence of fear or doubt but performance despite the presence of both. Cheers!
