IS EXAMINATION A TRUE TEST OF KNOWLEDGE?.

Greetings ladies and gettlemen. This is @elaebi again. And I would love to hit the nail on the head with this topic "Is examination a true test of knowledge" in my post today. Before going deeply into the subject matter for today, of like to give a clear meaning of what examination really means.

• Examination is the means to determine the aptitude or qualification of someone by subjecting them to a test .

• Examination is the formal test involving answering written or oral questions with no or limited access to textbokks or the like.

Examination is no doubt truly needed because without going through one, we won't move forward but then examination is not the true test of knowledge. My reasons are:

1. Psychologically.
   Sometimes before examination day or few days to a an examination date, a student could lose any of the family member or a closed one which would eventually take a negative control on the study of that student. At that moment of the student's life, he/she can barely focus and read and as such an examination at that time can not be proven as the true test of intelligency.

2. Malpractice.
   This days students don't read but rather depend on carrying micro chips, key points and even textbooks into an exam hall which sometimes might be lucky for them. Funny enough the ones who would take time to bow their heads and burn their midnight candles come out with lower grades compare to the ones who participated in examination malpractice.

3. Stress.
   Students are stressed in so many ways which has reduced their performances during examination and not because they are dull. Two weeks to my exams last season, I fell seriously I'll and was even hospitalized. U was given three assignments to work on over the weekend and submit on Monday the following week. I was choked up with so much writing and I had to type all the assignments myself to help cit down the cost and I finally broke down through all the stress and finally ended up taking drips in the hospital. Some students have 2-3 papers to write a day so tell me how do they manage their time when they can't properly study for one without diverting to the other.

4. Bribery.
   Lecturers collect money for sorting in universities which has given rise to bribery in the educational sector. Some girls (slay mama) would even go around sleeping with male lecturers just to have an 'A". In this situation, examination can never be measured as the true test of intelligence.

In conclusion, we lose too many talented people by defining intelligence through exams that are wholly inadequate and constricting. A great man once said "There is no pride in never falling but raising up everytome you fall". If a students fails, that doesn't not mean he/she is not intelligent. Examination often do little more than measure a person's ability to sit for exams.
