The measures of a successful beach holiday
A beach holiday is a precious thing - one to be properly appreciated.
A great beach holiday needs loads of the below, in no particular order:
- Relaxing, reading a great (but hopefully kinda trashy) book. Science fiction/fantasy for extra points here
- Relaxing, watching movies (we probably watched a few too many Dr Who episodes here - but what the hey. Holidays, you know?
- Relaxing listening to your favourite music
- Relaxing, playing games/cards (well, my daughter and I are inventing a game so that counts! AND I introduced my daughter to my favourite role-playing game Dragonquest - total win!)
- Relaxing, playing guitar (there was a bit of pressure in this one, because I have a gig tomorrow that I have been preparing for, but still, a solid pass on this one)
- Sleeping in!
- Relaxing with your alcoholic beverage of choice (Bourbon, half coke half soda! - Win!)
- Swimming! (And for those inclined lying on the beach)
- Playing with the kids (if you don't have kids - doing things you loved doing on your hols when you were a kid)
- Relaxing with the people you love, wherever
- Relaxing, doing not a lot of anything at all!
All in all, a very healthy pass and a much healthier and saner me for the trouble! Enjoy your next holiday and make sure you do some things to relax and recharge!
