🌋VOLCANIC ERUPTION🌋

Make your own volcano. This one made by my Geography students

If you scroll my post before, I have mentioned how to be a great teacher. One of the criteria is to make the whole classroom enjoy the teaching and learning process. If students enjoy and have so much fun in the classroom for sure they will learn many things.

So, yesterday I was teaching about the volcanic eruption. My student was so happy to learn about it. I already remind them 1 week before the next class to bring all the materials needed to make the volcano.

Material needed to make the volcano

1. Vinegar
2. Baking Soda
3. Red + yellow / orange food color
4. Dish liquid soap
5. Colorful Clay
6. Bottle / can
7. Any hard material to lay down the volcano ( i ask my students to bring the used cake board)

METHOD TO MAKE THE STANDARD VOLCANO

1. I ordered my students to sit in a group of four. ( This group already arranged 1 week before. The main purpose to arranged this group early so the students can make a division in buying the materials and who in charge to make a presentation).

2. The time is so limited! So I only give them 40 minutes to make a volcano. 20 minutes to present (5 minutes each group) and the rest 20 minutes is to make the volcanic eruption. Last 10 minutes is to tidy and clean their area.

3. They laid down a cake board. Then, place a bottle/can at the center. They use colorful clay to make the rest of the volcano. After done making the volcano, pour the vinegar, dish soap, and food color into the volcano. Last, they put the baking soda into the volcano

4. Tadaa.... The student so happy to see the volcanic eruption. They keep on adding the vinegar and baking soda into the volcano 😅

My students are not just having so much fun, but they also can learn about the volcanic eruption. They also can identify the difference between magma and lava.
