This looks like it could be a photo taken in my New England, maybe northern Maine or Vermont. It looks to be what we call 'board and batten' with large boards laid vertically and the joints sealed with smaller pieces of wood 'battens'. Is it a wood structure?
It is a wood structure and made like you explain it. In Sweden most houses in the country side look like this - the red really pops when it's summer and the surrounding is green .
