Man of the hour! - The result of a season of hard work amd perseverance.
He did it!
@nathanmj and his team won the Western Australia Basketball League U18 Third Division Grand Final, and walked off with the trophy! It was a tense and nervewracking game to watch, and I can imagine the pressure these young men felt on the court.
They held their composure for the most part, but the other team just kept coming at them with everything they had. The hard work and discipline they have put in all season, to only lose one game, showed at the end, and eventually the other team had nothing left to give, and we secured a momentus win!
I had to sit and gather my composure at the end of the game. One of my proudest moments for sure!
Junior MJ and his team also played his grand final in the under 14 boys league, but was up against a very strong, and undefeated team, which they lost by 30 plus points whenever they played them in the regular season. Making it tonthe Grand Final was a huge milestone forbthe team on it's own. They played with all their might, and held on as long as they could, finishing the game 20 points behind, but a fantastic effort nonetheless.

A very proud day for me as a Dad watching both my boys peform at such a high level. The boys have grown in so many ways being part of a program like this, not just in basketball skill, but in personal development, mental toughness and work ethic as well.
It has been great to see them rewarded for all the hard work they've put in this year, and super special for @nathanmj to come home with the gold! That is a life experience not many people get, and he'll remember it for a long, long time. Junior MJ will also have his day in the sun one day soon, I have not doubt!

Waaaay above my level of coaching this time round. The team had an exceptional former USA NCAA player as their coach. Also played SBL many years ago. He really did an amazing job pulling the team into shape. The results speak for themselves.
I learnt a lot from him as well.
You are too modest. It helps to have a good life coach and a supportive dad who knows the sport well too.

Still on a bit of a high. He's been though so many disappointments, amd finally found a coach who saw something in him, and chose to develop his game with the team. He's made some great friends, and held his own on the court very well, to help the team win the championship. Couldn't be more proud of his determination to succeed.
Congrats and well done to the boys! Memories to last a lifetime.
