Procrastination and some test shots from my new camera

in #life6 years ago

"Procrastination is the avoidance of doing a task that needs to be accomplished. Sometimes, procrastination takes place until the "last minute" before a deadline." Wikipedia

I am close to a deadline for something and i caught myself procrastinating so decided to procrastinate my procrastination :)

How many of you are like me? How many of you just skip some work with a thought "I will start tomorrow" and never start until the last minute? How this affects your life and work? And what if something that you should do don't have a clear deadline?
Never really thought about it like that until now. I know that i am a procrastinator my whole life but never really thought about it. This are just questions, maybe i will write about some answers when i get them clear in my head. Would like to hear your thoughts if you have them and are willing to share.

And here are some photos of my cats taken with my new camera. They are my cats in the sense that i feed them but i am sure that they don't think they are mine. Why photos of cats? Well they look like they are good in doing what they like and don't care about plans and things that they should do :) and i have no time to go out and shoot and i really wanted to do some test shots.

He could do this all day, and these days he does it

Not an easy thing being a yard cat

And if anyone wants to guess what camera was used to take this photos pleas do, interested of your thoughts. (maybe i should make a contest with prizes, people don't like to guess stuff for free :) )

For me the worst case scenario is when the project has no clear deadline. In this case i try to set a clear deadline for my self and also tell the client, then i have to do it.
And about guessing the camera... Really i have no Idea, but based on being a Canon user and not posting shots with a full frame camera (that convince me you don't have a full frame camera), i thinks it's a Canon full frame camera. I guess it's 6D mark II

And forgot to say, nice shots, specially first and second ones.

that is not a bad idea. now thinking about it i can see this no clear deadline problem in bunch of my life stuff. just now i need to make a phone call to postpone something and i will probably make in 3-4 hours :)
I know it was to much to expect to see a difference on this resolutions but i wanted to see would someone guess it is and 15 year old camera. It's Canon 5D Classic.

Same problem for me, postponing thing that i should do and doing other not so necessary stuff. Writing down a task list helped a little, but not much.

So it is a Canon full frame camera (proud of my guess, haha)
The quality made me think they haven't done much in the past 15 years. (lol)

well they added some focus points (this has 9 :) ) and some ISO (highest is 1600 and then you have high :) )

i'm guna take a wild guess at sony? I saw your post yesterday with the flowers and was hoping you'd give it away!

it was a bit misleading with the new part, wanted to see will someone guess that it is taken with 15 year old Canon 5D classic

ahahahaa never would have guessed! I loved me some 5D!! I just recently sold our 5d classic to our friend @kayla.denise!

this was the only option to go full frame :D and if you don't want to do video and have a basic knowledge of photography it looks like a great beginners camera for the price it has right now.

What camera did you get? Awesome shots as always :)

Wanted to try a full frame, and there is no way that i could spend 3000$ for 5D IV and paying 700-800 for a mark II was like it is old but not that cheap so went for Canon 5D classic for around 290$. great condition, love the photos, i will probably hate the not so high ISO but it has 15 years so... :)

And how does it feel, changing from a crop to a full frame

Well it's been 2 days as i got it, and just few photos of sunflowers and yard cats :) i do like the bokeh, i think i will shoot everything in 1.8 :D and classic has that feel of mixed digital and film photography. And it is weird when 85mm is not that long :D
And it is a tank, yesterday i put it on the passenger seat, just camera and 85mm lens and it triggered the seatbelt alarm :D

Good post and photos, thank you very much for such a good post, be friend, see you

i'm seeing some great Bokeh

never shoot with full frame before and yes it has a nicer bokeh than the crop.

Colors are so good. my guess is sony a7 III?

no, it's an oldie :) canon 5D classic

how are the colors so good?

not sure :D it is edited but it does make a nice image. this is RAW with everything at 0 in lightroom so not edited RAW and it looks quite good
_MG_2087-2.jpg

yes even unedited one looks so good

Lol . You can't be creative without procrastination.

i think there is truth in that one, all the crazy ideas i got when not working on the stuff i should :D

NICEEE!!! Lovely shots, lovely bokeh, lovely lovely. Really. So cool this is a 15 year old camera <3 Shows we don't need to have the newest of the newest. Good buy :D Enjoy!

that is something to think about when starting, 600Eur in this kind of camera, plastic fantastic 50mm and a flash would do much better than new 600Eur body (700d maybe) with kit lens in a 5000 ISO situation. light is everything in photography but we all want new stuff :D

YES! Indeed! I've recently started with the 'buy less' regiment, I'm using my cameras and phones longer now. Due to several reasons I want my cameras to be as light as possible though, so that limits the options for full frame / budget options a bit :D You did well here!
