We've had an escapee!! Tammar wallaby on the loose.
Attempts to recapture a Tamar Wallaby who has escaped his enclosure are currently underway. Tamar Wallabies are natice to Western Australia and his chances of survival here without his pack to watch his back are slim. He also won't be all that well suited to the cooler temperatures winter is bound to bring.
Unfortunately he managed to escape late last week when one of the emus scared him and he managed to get a foot hold on the specially designed $18000 wallaby-escape-proof and fox-impenetrable fence. Someone is getting paid too much if you ask me
He has since been spotted 3 times. First attempts to recapture were a failure when something spooked him and he took off into the bushes. the third time was much closer but still he has managed to elude us.
We are setting non-harmful traps with food to try and lure him in. He obviously wants to be back with his family but Wallaby's are naturally scared animals, incredibly wary of everything they have many predators. This one, being alone, is extra cautious and trying to capture him without some form of tranquilizer gun is proving to be difficult at best.
Hopefully we catch the little bastard before a fox, cat, dog etc gets him.
Steem on Steemians
Just goes to prove that something can always bust through the thing that was supposed to be proof against it XD
Seriously though I hope you find him soon D:
Dam, hope you find and catch the little guy. Keep us posted if you are able to get him. Hopefully he wont wander too far.
