A day's hike in the frosty white countryside of Germany .......

I am going back 2 years with this story, my mind is elsewhere. It is nearing the time that we were packing warm clothes to leave for a few weeks of cold fun in the Bavarian countryside of Germany in 2016. It was Leaving our summer at The Sunshine Coast for a very cold in Germany sounds crazy, but we were lured to this lovely country by Bill Bennett and Jennifer Cluff's personal small group Romantic Road Tour in Bavaria. The 10 day tour was starting in Frankfurt and finishing in Munich driving through the beautiful historical towns and villages and their Christmas markets, mulled wine and bratwurst sausages.

Life is an adventure and when opportunities knock on our door, we jump in.

This Tour was not just a long distance walking one, it was combination of walking, driving, wandering around the German towns decorated for Christmas and eating lunch in German pubs. A memorable day was the one spent walking through a winter wonderland day. It was a very long day walking in the icy countryside with no-else around. Maybe the locals had a warm inside day, it was -4 degrees.

This was our starting point!



We walked past some amazing scenes, I had never seen a frozen lake before.



There were long stretches of open country and very little trees. One little town where we were hopeful for a cup of coffee and a bit of lunch was isolated. Not a person was to be seen, it was very odd and very weird. However, we were not far from a little historical town of Rottenburg at this stage.

Stopped to gazed on a little very old Church, something we do not see in Australia.



I will always remember this fantastic day in a winter wonderland, so glad we went to cold Germany in December.
