SS Cotopaxi disappeared without a trace in December 1925. It went to Havana, Cuba, in Charleston, South Carolina, but never reached its destination.
The vessel transported 2,340 tons of coal and had a crew of 32 people. Two days after leaving the port of Charleston, Cotopaxi encountered a tropical storm, and the crew members broadcast a S.O.S. Although there has been much speculation, in reality there is nothing mysterious about its disappearance. In his last radio call, crew members on Cotopaxi said the ship was taken by the water.
But even so, the ship was not found immediately, but after 90 years. In 2015, the Cuban Coast Guard announced that it had intercepted a ship without captain and crew aboard, heading for Cuba.
A few days later, Cuban sailors could get aboard the ship. They found that it was about a hundred years old sail called SS Cotopaxi. Obviously there were no sailors on board. A board log was found on board the ship. Unfortunately, however, nothing was recorded about the incident that had occurred and led to the disappearance of the crew and, implicitly, of the ship.
All log entries stop on December 1, 1925. All that is known is that the ship headed for Havana, left Charleston, South Carolina, to transport 2,340 tons of coal. After two days at sea, disappeared without a trace for 90 years, a real performance, say specialists.
Cuba's Foreign Minister said an investigation into this event is underway, and that the mystery created around the Bermuda Triangle has to be unleashed, given that this route is increasingly being avoided by commercial shipping, a situation that affects Cuba.

The Bermuda Triangle, also called the Devil's Triangle, is an imaginary region that can be identified on the map, linking Miami, Florida or San Juan, Puerto Rico and the Bahamas. This area is recognized as many ships and planes have disappeared here.
The legends that have been created around this area are multiple. Although there have been many disappearances of airplanes or ships in this area, there have been specialists who have vehemently denied the possibility of paranormal phenomena.
It is certain that the reopening of the Cotopaxi ship stirred the interest of the scientific world, so many specialists went to Cuba to try to untie this mystery.
