Sex Work is Work

Today, a few libertarians and myself got out on Highway 30 in Gonzales, Louisiana. We got out there to bring attention to an FBI raid if a massage parlor nearby. After standing out in the midday sun for an hour, we went in to talk with the parlor owner about what happened.

She let us know about how no human trafficking and prostitution was going on. When clients are there, the rooms are open. She thinks that because some of the Asian massage places do that, police think they all do that. Also because she is a Chinese immigrant the police pick on them because they know they can’t afford to fight back.

She was happy to know some Americans had come out to talk to her and offer some help.

That is fantastic!!!

I really really wish the feds would just legalize prostitution, as it would solve so many problems, just like with drugs.

It would also give sex workers some protections that they currently don't receive. It's so ridiculous because it is just another job that is discriminated against by moral implications by people that abuse those very same moral implications.

Oy. Vey.

Good job though!

Thanks Beth. We just had a few people to show up on short notice. It just sucks that we still have this, “Your doing something I don’t agree with, so I must cage you!” mentality.

I couldn't agree more. No victim, no crime! Who is the government to say what we can and can't do with our lives if it effects no one else's Rights? Seriously, couldn't agree more.

It really is leftover Puritanism. Somebody, somewhere is having a good time and I don’t like it. After talking with the owner, it seemed more like a shake down than saving the people from voluntary hand-jobs.

The problem is when government gets bigger and bigger.
