Mein erster Raupenfund im neuen Jahr ist die Raupe der Achateule. Sie saß am 4.01.2019 direkt vor meiner Haustüre an der Wand. Bevor ein Vogel die Raupe entdeckt, habe ich sie in Obhut genommen. Jetzt füttere ich sie mit Löwenzahn, den man auch im Winter findet. In den kommenden Tagen sollte sie sich hoffentlich verpuppen. Nach der Verpuppung kommt sie in eine Kiste um den Winter im Kühlen zu verbringen. Mitte März, kommt die Puppe in die warme Wohnung. Dort kann der Schmetterling dann nach einigen Wochen schlüpfen und ich entlasse ihn in die Natur.
My first caterpillar find in the new year is the angle shades. It sat on 4.01.2019 directly before my front door at the wall. Before a bird discovers the caterpillar, I took care of it. Now I feed it with dandelion, which can also be found in winter. Hopefully she will pupate in the coming days. After the pupation she comes into a box to spend the winter in the cool. In the middle of March, the pupa comes into the warm flat. There the butterfly can hatch after some weeks and I release it into nature.

Die Achateuel, auch Mangoldeule genannt ist ein Nachtfalter aus der Familie der Eulenfalter (Noctuidae). Der Wanderfalter fliegt aus dem Süden nach Deutschland ein. Die erste Generation stammt von den überwinternden Raupen und fliegt ab Mai. Die zweite Generation findet man vom Spätsommer bis in den Winter. Die Raupe überwintert und frisst an vielen krautigen Pflanzen. Der Falter ist ausschließlich nachtaktiv.
The angle shades, is a moth from the family of (Noctuidae). It flies from the south to Germany as a migratory butterfly. The first generation comes from the wintering caterpillars and flies from May. The second generation can be found from late summer to winter. The caterpillar hibernates and eats herbaceous plants. The butterfly is only active at night.

Wie immer sehr schöne Bilder und ein sehr informativer Beitrag.
Ich habe mir vom Weihnachtsgeld auch endlich mal mein lang ersehntes Makro zugelegt und damit schon einige Bilder gemacht. Ich freue mich auf den Frühling wenn wieder alles anfängt lebendig zu werden.

Freu mich schon auf die weiteren Bilder von der Entwicklung der Raupe. Hätte nicht erwartet das zu dieser Jahreszeit eine Rupe zu sehen ist.
Ich bin gespannt, wann sie sich verpuppt, oder ob sie sich noch mal häutet. Auf jeden Fall will ich die Puppe und den frischen Falter zu fotografieren. Ob mir das gelingt, wird sich zeigen.Auch die Raupe der Hausmutter ist noch unterwegs. Mein Freund hat derzeit 2 Exemplare in der Zucht.

Wer die Raupe nicht ehrt, ist den Schmetterling nicht wert. Die Metamorphose ist immer wieder ein fantastisches Erlebnis. Ich freue mich, wenn ich diesen Prozess mitverfolgen kann.
