Pattaya - Sin City of Thailand

Bars, traffic jam, bars, crazy people, bars, Walkin' Street, bars, criminals, bars, shopping malls, bars....
Certainly Pattaya also has its beautiful sides, outside it is safe to live quite well, but in the center it is usually only about one, fun, girls and fast sex.
In no other city in the world is the number of bars as concentrated as in Pattaya, which, of course, attracts all the well-known problems of nightlife.



This has damaged Thailand's reputation over the years, Thailand has become more and more associated with sex tourism. Pattaya gradually became a gathering place of criminal individuals who had to flee their homelands for arrest warrants and criminal offenses and found refuge in Pattaya.
This has improved in recent years after the immigration authorities and police have stepped up their actions against criminal and international foreigners.

But how could this happen?

It takes some years to go back to the Vietnam War.
Pattaya is another unfortunate side effect of the Vietnam War, Pattaya was just a fishing village in the 60s, but saw rapid development when it became an official R&R spot for U.S. troops during the Vietnam War.
During that time the U.S. troops start playing their same dirty game as everywhere in the world where they have bigger bases, take a look at Okinawa, Guam or in Germany after the second world war.
The poor women were bribed by "gifts" of the soldiers to sell their bodies to them. Cigarettes, sweets, small "gifts of money". This, of course, spoke in no time with the poorer Thai population, which in turn was a mass immigration of young women from the rural population to Pattaya.



One can keep from the current military government what one wants, one thing can be said, the last years in pattaya a lot has been done to contain this evil.
Let's hope the best that it continues, I'm always happy to come out of Pattaya, I have to go shopping sometimes there.
